Runrig - The Rise And Fall 2016 From The Album The Story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhk8ylXI2SI

[Intro]
D D D D

[Verse 1]
A D A G
I´ve seen the sunlight shining on the valley
A D A G
I´ve seen the shadows darken on the deep
A D A G
I´ve seen the young men riding out for glory
Em A D A G
And broken in defeat

[Verse 2]
A D A G
There was an hour that never knew a gloaming
A D A G
The whole of life, enchanted in a day
A D A G
And we´ll be there, forever in the places
Em A D A G
Where we used to be

[Verse 3]
A D A G
I see the hedgerows, moving through the orchards
A D A G
Through the bocàge and breaking out for Caen
A D A G
Dealing fear and all our dices loaded
Em A D Dsus4
With the courage of the dawn

[Chorus]
Bm A D
And some will rise and some will fall
G Bm Em A
To gain the world or lose it all
Bm Em G
And that time was mine to hear you
A A7sus4
when you called
Bm A D
You were our youngest, brightest flower
G Bm Em A
Walking side by side through our darkest hour
Bm Em G A A7sus4
We´ll take this cup, this portion evermore

[Verse 4]
A D A G
I´ve seen the last wave breaking on the beaches
A D A G
I´ve seen the angels crying on the wire
A D A G
I´ve seen the first star up and brightly shining
Em A D A G
Couldn´t rise much higher

[Verse 5]
A D A A7 G
Now we´re waiting here not getting older
A A7 D A G
But we can dream like we can not believe
A A7 D A A7 G
With all those fools, those great historic moments
Em A D Dsus4
That flatter do deceive.

[Chorus 2]
Bm A D
And some will come and some will go
G Bm Em A
To rise on wings in skies of gold
Bm Em G Em A Asus4
Or to fall down to the final, silent cold
Bm A D
When I was young it burned so bright
G Bm Em A
The only son, a rising Christ
Bm Em G Em A Asus4
Now I´m left here in the fall-out of that life

[Outro to fade]
Bm G D A Bm G D A
The rise and fall
Bm G D A Em Em7 A
The rise and fall
Bm G D A Bm G D A
The rise and fall
Bm G D A Em Em7 A
The rise and fall
