More Rosa more fun!

C F G (play same chords for each line of this block of lyrics)
The air was cold that morning
and the coffee tasted black
He said play us a song, you're a first here,
and I don't think that's too much to ask.
But lonely and scared we declined here.
Said maybe on my way back.
But I've got mountains to cross before moonshine,
and already a weight on my back.

C F A G
We tiptoed stumbling across at a heartbreaking speed,
C F G
passed the parking lot on to the highway.
C F A G
And to mumble one's thoughts is a heartbreaking deed.
A G
Maybe just one of you could go my way.

C F G
He closed his eyes on the side of a church, right side of Tennessee
C F G
But never slept that well next to strangers, anyway.
C F G C
Waved goodbye to the footpath, colder now than he had grown to believe
F G C F G C F G
One more cigarette to chase these night fears away.

C F G
Yes, you can take me home, but I will not buy you dinner.
C F G C
Well, I better head back now, lack of sleep has caused my blood to grow thinner
F G
And these mountain roads can be quite treacherous
C F G C F G
Step back sir - I may be small, but I can put up quite a fuss right now.
C F G C F G C F G
I hate this part of town. Where every shop's closed down. I hate this part of town.
C F G C F G C F G C F G
Right now, I hate this part of town. Where every shop's closed down. I hate this part of town.

Outro (X5, last time hit once each):
C F G
