C Fmaj7
Was fresh and bright and early
C Fmaj7
I went towards the river
C Fmaj7
But nothing still has altered
Fmaj7 G
Just the seasons ring a change

C Fma7
There stood this old timer
C Fmaj7
For all the world's first poacher
C Fmaj7
His mind upon his tackle
G
And these words upon his mind:

C Fmaj7 (x4)

C Fmaj7
Bring me a fish with eyes of jewels
C Fmaj7
And mirrors on their bodies
C Fmaj7
Bring them strong and bring them bigger
Fmaj7 G
Than a newborn child

C Fmaj7
Well I've no use for riches
C Fmaj7
And I've no use for power
C Fmaj7
And I've no use for a broken heart
Fmaj7 G
I'll let this world go by

C Fmaj7 (x4)
(dum dum dum dum)

C Fmaj7 (x2)

C Fmaj7
There stood this old timer
C Fmaj7
For all the world's first poacher
C Fmaj7
His mind upon his tackle
Fmaj7 G
And these words upon his mind:

C Fmaj7
Bring me a fish with eyes of jewels
C Fmaj7
And mirrors on their bodies
C Fmaj7
Bring them strong and bring them bigger
Fmaj7 G
Than a newborn child

C Fmaj7 (x8)

C Fmaj7 (x4)
(dum dum dum dum) (and fade)
