(Intro): A G F E

(Verse 1):
E B7
Got a letter just this morning, it was postmarked Omaha.
B E
It was typed and neatly written offering me this better job.
E A
A better job with higher wages, expenses paid and a car.
B7 E
But I'm on T.V. here locally and I can't quit, I'm a star.

(Verse 2):
I come on the T.V. a-grinnin' wearing pistols and a hat.
It's a kiddy show and I'm the hero of the younger set.
And the number one attraction in every supermarket parking lot.
I'm the King of Kansas City, no thanks Omaha, thanks a lot.

(Pre-Chorus):
B7
Kansas City Star... that's what I are...
B7 (Staccato)
Yodel-iddle-ayee, you oughta see my car.

(Chorus): (same as verse)

I drive a big old Cadillac with wide wheels, got rindstones on the spokes.
I got credit down at the grocery store, and my barber tells me jokes.
I'm the number one attraction in every supermarket parking lot.
I'm the King of Kansas City, no thanks Omaha, thanks a lot.

(Bridge): (Play verse 1 time)

(Pre-chorus)
(Chorus)

(Spoken): E
Stay tuned we'll have a Popeye cartoon in a minute...
