Arrow/plane by Roger Harvey (of White Wives)
None of Roger's songs are on UG yet, so this will hopefully be the first of many. :)

This is the finger picking in the intro/verses/instrumental if you'd rather play that than the chords:

[Intro]

C Am C Am
F Am F G x2

[Verse 1]

C Am C Am
It's always the same, though the seasons they change
F Am F G
The weather is tempered but the rest just remains
C Am C Am
It's like trying to start when your wires are cut
F Am F G
No use clinging to things that you've already lost

[Chorus]

Am F C
Down in the canyon children sleep in their cars
Am F C
Far from amusement parks and a city of stars
G Am
And today I complain, threw my passport away
F C G F
So I will not be with you on the big arrow/plane

[Instrumental]

C Am C Am
F Am F G x2

[Verse 2]

C Am C Am
As I tangle in dreams in your passenger seat
F Am F G
As the strip malls and tree lines come apart at the seams
C Am C E
Way out in the mesa there's no fortune or fame
F C
Learned there's more to the picture
G F
Than what fits in the frame

[Chorus 2]

Am F C
Down in the canyon passed the harsh neon signs
Am F C
We're restless, indifferent, we are colorblind
Am C G Am
Though our plans rearrange, I still wish you had stayed
F C G F Am
Cause’ I will not be with you on the big arrow/plane

[Chorus 3]

Am F C
Down in the canyon, with the wind, free and wild.
Am F C
We're restless, indifferent, we are colorblind
F C G Am
And today I complain, threw my passport away
F C G F
So I will not be with you on the big arrow/plane

[Outro]

C Am C Am
F Am F G x2

End on
C
