Roger Creager - Things Look Good Around Here

[Intro]

A A D A D D G D x4

A
It's 4 am and I just got home
D
To my motel room so I picked up the phone
A E
I figured you'd like to hear about the day I had
A
It's been a real peach of a day today
D
The van had a blowout on the way
A E A
By 11 am it was already lookin' bad

A
We drove all the way to Amarillo
D
The people are warm but it's always cold
A E
It was raining outside and all our gear got soaked
A
But I didn't know the crowd would dig our stuff
D
Cause new towns are usually tough
A E A
They were singing along and they knew every song I wrote.

A F#m
Things look good around here
D E
The boys are in the parking lot still drinking beer
D E A
I don't know if I'm ever going to get them inside
A F#m
It sounds like a party out there
D E
No worries, no cares
D E A
Things look good around here.

A
We sing all night and drive all day
D
Hey, there's got to be a better way
A E
When are we supposed to get our sleep?
A
Sometimes, I love doing what I do
D
Other times I hate being away from you
A E A
And sometimes I can't believe I'm in this deep

A
Most times I get nervous inside
D
I try to hide it, that's my pride
A E
But I need a little encouragement now and then
A
Step out on the stage eyes wide
D
It always feels like my first time
A E A
I kick-off a tune then I'm all right again.

A F#m
Things look good around here
D E
The boys are in the parking lot still drinking beer
D E A
I don't know if I'm ever going to get them inside
A F#m
It sounds like a party out there
D E
No worries, no cares
D E A
Things look good around here.

A F#m
Things look good around here
D E
The boys are in the parking lot still drinking beer
D E A
I don't know if I'm ever going to get them inside
A F#m
It sounds like a party out there
D E
No worries, no cares
D E A
Things look good around here.

A
I know we need some time alone
D
It's not long now until I get home
A E
I'm sorry I woke you; I hope that you're not mad
A
But it's 4 am and I just got home
D
To my motel room so I picked up the phone
A E A
I figured you'd like to hear about the life I have.

A F#m
Things look good around here
D E
I'm headed to the parking lot to grab me a beer
D E A
There's a party goin on outside
A F#m
This ain't the first time through
D E
And it won't be the last one true
D E A
But things look good around here
