River City Extension

White Blackmail

by River City Extension
River City Extension

Biography:

Music is an art form that is meant to speak to us beyond the literal. After spending years perfecting his craft, Singer/songwriter, Joseph Michelini decided to take his music to the next plane. Cutting his teeth in coffee houses in Toms River, NJ, Joseph began to introduce different elements, from acoustic bass, to banjo and cello. At that point, River City Extension was born; having the intention of writing orchestral indie rock, while introducing elements of Punk, Country, Folk, and World music.

Love open the door

I've been out so long I forgot what I'm fighting for
C#m Cdim A
Your tender call
C#m B
I hunger for this one or none at all

[Chorus]
A E
They say the color of money's gonna change your mind
A E
But it was never worth the weight of what it claimed to define
A E
They want the worst of me? They want the world to see, well-
B
It never really meant a lot to me
A E
Another roll of the dice, another flick of the pen
A E
till I waste my heart and want it back again
A E
Still I place my hard work in the hands that feed and say,
B
"I love you honey, take what you want from me"

[Verse 2]
B G#m B
There's love in your soul

Your arbiter
C#m B
Kicks and crawls and calls you to your word

[Chorus]
A E
They said the color of money was gonna change your mind
A E
But it was never worth the weight of what it claimed to define
A E
Another fake wrote it in on borrowed motions and time
B
Strange, he used to be a friend of mine
A E
Another roll of the dice, another vice in the noose
A E
Until your parodied integrity will pass for the truth
A E
But now they're asking for proof and the youth ain't free, you beg-
B G
"I love you honey, take what you want from me"

This weight I carry sets me free
C#m
In a mirror dimly I do see
