Relient K

Softer To Me

by Relient K
Relient K

Biography:

Relient K is an American rock band formed in 1998 in Canton, Ohio by Matt Thiessen (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Brian Pittman (bass), and Matthew Hoopes (guitar, backing vocals), during the band's junior year in high school and their time at Malone College. The band is named after guitarist Hoopes' automobile, a Plymouth Reliant K car, with the spelling intentionally altered to avoid trademark infringement over the Reliant name.

In 2000, Dave Douglas replaced Stephen Cushman on drums.

There are several ways to play this song
This is one of them

For this song play G like this F usually goes like this (i think):

G F
E---x E---0
B---3 B---1
G---0 G---2
D---0 D---3
A---2 A---0 <--might be x
E---3 E---x

intro has berry simple riff
e|-----0-|
B|-------|
G|-------|
D|---2---|
A|-------|
E|-1-----| followed by a build up of Em (i took a guess)
then Am F C G, which is used throughout the song

Am F
Where am I, Where are you
C G
There's so much time but so little to do
Am F
We're busy doing nothing cause it's vanity we prize
C G
You can't see nothing cause you can't see through your eyes
Am F
They're covered with a film, you're blinded by yourself
C G
You're the one to blame, but you pretend it's someone else

Am F C G
Life could you be a little softer to me
Am F C G
Life could you be more gentle to me
Am F C G Am F C G
Softer, softer, softer, softer to me

Am F
I'm still alive, that much is true
C G
I've never lied well I guess I've told a few
Am F
There's nothing to see because I brought nothing to show
C G
The coversation got too deep, I shrug and tell you I don't know
Am F
This life can get so hard, this world can be so cruel
C G Am F C G
Sometimes I fall apart I feel just like a useless tool

Am F C G
Life could you be a little softer to me
Am F C G
Life could you be more gentle to me
Am F C G
Yeah I know, this is a selfish plea
Am F C
Because Christ sacrificed his flesh
G
On the cross for me
Am F C G
But this world is hard, it's cruel and I wish it would be
Am F C G Am F C G (til it stops)
Softer, softer, softer, softer to me

pretty simple
this is my first tab not
