Rayland Baxter

Ghost Again

by Rayland Baxter
Rayland Baxter

Biography:

Rayland Baxter (stylized as rayLand Baxter) is an American alternative country musician from Nashville, Tennessee. He is currently signed to ATO Records. Baxter is the son of musician Bucky Baxter.

It’s hard to pinpoint the moment that songs are born, the day casual hummers become singers or scribblers become songwriters. Rayland Baxter certainly can’t, and he wouldn’t want to. Though he grew up in Nashville to the sounds of his father’s pedal steel, he didn’t dream of being a rock star.

Intro

C F G C x4

C F
Well, I'm walking in spite of my days

G C
Taming women that don't wanna be tamed

C F
And I'm lying to all my very good friends

G C
And I'm telling them I'm all okay

C F
I spend time in a prison of sorts

G C
Throwing punches that were often ignored

C F
But here I stand as a ghostly white man

G C
Laying alone on the floor

F G
But don't you know I know it's not okay

C F
I've nearly made it to the end of the road

F G7
A long black road, will never paved

C F
And I'm turning myself into a ghost again

G F
And I'm losing my mind

G F
Yeah, I'm losing my mind

G F G C
And I'm turning myself into a ghost again

F G C

F
Well, my friend went away to the sea

G C
She was a millionaire's bride to be

C F
And she wrote me a letter that said don't forget her

G C
But she never returned to me

C F
Well, yeah, I guess I'm part of the cause

G C
That helped one more bird fall in love

C F
But here I stand as a ghostly white man

G C
Wondering where I belong

F G
But don't you know I know it's not okay

C F
I've nearly made it to the end of the road

F G7
A long black road, will never be paved

C F
And I'm turning myself into a ghost again

F G
And baby, if I could, you know I would

C F
But all I've been doing ain't doing no good

G F
And I'm losing my mind

G F
Yeah I'm losing my mind

G F G C F G7 C
And I'm turning myself into a ghost again

G F
You got your gun to my head

G F
From the hill of high hopes

G F
You got two bullets left

G F
Where do you want them to go

G F
I'm losing all of my family

G F
I'm losing all of my friends

G F
Yeah, they all talk about me

G F G F 7x G C
Like I'm some kind of dead man

F G
But don't you know I know it's not okay

C F
I've nearly made it to the end of the road

F G7
A long black road, will never be paved

C F
And I'm turning myself into a ghost again
