[INTRO]

A G D (X 4)

A D
People on the street now, faces long and grim
A D G
Souls are feeling heavy and faith is growing thin
A D
Fears are getting stronger you can feel them on the rise
A D
Hopelessness got some by the throat you can see it in their eyes
A G D A G D
I said how come How come

A D
Everybody on a shoestring, everybody in a hole
A D G
Everybody on an old jet plane crossing their fingers and toes
A D
Government man spin his politics till they got you pinned
A
Everybody trying to reach out to each other
D
But they don't know where to begin

[CHORUS]
A D
I said how come, I can't tell the free world from living hell
A G D
I said how come
A D
How come all I see is a child of god in misery
A G D A G D (X 2)
I said how come

A D
The pistol now as prophet, the bullet some kind of lord and king
A D G
But pain is the only promise that this so called savior is gonna bring
A D
Love can be a liar and justice can be a thief
A D
And freedom can be an empty cup from which everybody want to drink

[CHORUS]
A D
I said how come I can't tell the free world from living hell
A G D
I said how come
A D
How come all i see is a child of God in misery
A G D
I said how come

A
It's just man killing man
D
Killing man, killing man, killing man
A G D
I don't understand it

A
It's just man killing man
D
Killing man, killing man, killing man
A G D
I don't understand it

A
It's just man killing man
D
Killing man, Killing man, Killing man
A
Killing man, Killing man, Killing man
D
Killing man, Killing man
A D
I don't understand it, I don't understand it
A D
I don't understand it, I don't understand it

A D A D
How come, I said how come, How come, I said how come
