[Intro]
D F#m/C# Bm G x2

D F#m/C# Bm G
Mama always told me, I was a fighter and nothing could keep me down
D F#m/C# Bm G
She said never say never, always knew better than to keep both feet on the ground
D F#m/C# Bm G
I'm just one step behind reaching cloud number nine and gravi- ty's got nothing on me
D F#m/C# Bm G
The girls gotta dream and you better believe the lights are gonna shine on me

[Chorus]
D A G
Those thoughts of broad ways and lights around my name on the marquee
D A G
Keep me flying and I'm trying to be the best this town has ever seen
D A Bm G
And I don't know how to get there, but I'll get there, just watch me

[Inst]
D F#m/C# Bm G x2

D F#m/C# Bm G
When I was bit younger, somebody told me, " Girl, you're wasting your time"
D F#m/C# Bm G
He said," No one ever makes it in the show business and they're gonna eat you alive"
D F#m/C# Bm G
I stood forcing a smile for a little while, then left him with a wink
D F#m/C# Bm G
'Cause I know, one day he'll see my face on the cover of a magazine

[Chorus]
D A G
Those thoughts of broad ways and lights around my name on the marquee
D A G
Keep me flying and I'm trying to be the best this town has ever seen
D A Bm G
And I don't know how to get there, but I'll get there, just watch me

Inst.:
Bm A D G Bm A D G

Bm A D G
I wanna hear the crowd singing my songs back to me
Bm A D G
I wanna play music, everyday and give another girl a dream
Bm A D
I wanna show the world, you can be what you wanna be

[Chorus]
D A G
Those thoughts of broad ways and lights around my name on the marquee
D A G
Keep me flying and I'm trying to be the best this town has ever seen
D A Bm G
And I don't know how to get there, but I'll get there, just watch me

G D F#m/C# Bm G
Just watch me live the | dream, |
D F#m/C# Bm G
Watch me live the | dream |
D F#m/C# Bm G
Watch me live the | dream, oh | watch me live the dream
