Phil Vassar

I Would

by Phil Vassar
Phil Vassar

Biography:

Phil Vassar (born May 28, 1964 in Lynchburg, Virginia) is an American country music artist, most notable for his songwriting and use of a piano as his most prominent backing instrument.

Prior to signing with Arista Records in 2000, Vassar's songwriting talent was no stranger to the airwaves, penning number-one hits for some of the most popular country artists of the late 1990s: Jo Dee Messina ("Bye, Bye" and "I'm Alright"), Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money") and Tim McGraw ("My Next Thirty Years" and "For A Little While").

[Verse]
Am F
If I could take it all and change it
C G
Take the past and rearrange it
F C G

If I could figure out the reason
C G
Go back in time and change the season
F C G
I would, Baby yes I would
F C F C
And I'd be the man you can't live without
F C
I'd be righting hearts
F G
And turn you back around

[Chorus]
C F G
I would do anything to bring you back
C F
But it's all over and you're gone
G
And I just can't do that
C
I'd make you laugh
F
I'd learn to cry

I'd learn to dance
G
And just for one more chance
Bb F G
For something I could do to make it good
Bb F C Am C F
Baby I would

C Am C F

Am F
If I could say goodbye and face it
C G
Take the pain and just erase it

Am F
And if I could just feel better
C G
Break it down to a letter
F C G
I would yes I would
F C F C
I don't know what happened to you and yesterday
F C
And I can't get back there
F G
But if I could find a way

C F G
I would do anything to bring you back
C F
But it's all over and you're gone
G
And I just can't do that
C
I'd make you laugh
F
I'd learn to cry

I'd learn to dance
G
And just for one more chance
Bb F G
For something I could do to make it good
Bb F C
Baby I would, well I would

C F G
I would do anything to bring you back
C F
But it's all over and you're gone
G
And I just can't do that
C
I'd make you laugh
F
I'd learn to cry

I'd learn to dance

And just for one more chance
Bb F G
For something I could do to make it good
