Pedro The Lion

Of Minor Prophets And Their Prostitute Wives

by Pedro The Lion
Pedro The Lion

Biography:

Pedro the Lion is an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington. David Bazan formed the band in 1995 and represented its main creative force, backed by a varying rotation of collaborating musicians. After a shifting lineup, Pedro the Lion finally eventually became a one-man outfit. That man is David Bazan. A Seattle native, Bazan cut his teeth playing in hardcore bands before forming Pedro in 1995, taking the band's name from a character he made up for a possible children's book.

This is, in my opinion, one of the most catchy songs I've ever heard. And again I
beleive noone had tabbed this easy song out already. So I watched a live video of david
it and found out the chords.

Tuning-standard
Capo on 4th fret

NOTE: on the verses/intro/bridge areas, you hit the bottom string of the chord twice
you strum it. Just listen to the song and you'll know what I'm talking about. Theres one
im not sure on, but I play basically an Em moved down to the bottom 2 strings and play
others open. I'm not sure what chord name that would be (if its even real), so I
it with a ? in the tab.

INTRO: Am C Dm Am Am E

VERSE 1:
Am C Dm Am
All the time you were burning my letters
Am C E
You were only acting the part
Am C Dm Am
You think without me you'll get on much better
Am C Am
But you don't even know your own heart

CHORUS:
C Am F
Come home darling, Come home quickly
C Am F
Come home darling, All is forgiven
Dm
So come home quickly

BRIDGE: Am C Dm Am Am C EAm C Dm Am Am E

VERSE 2:
Am C Dm Am
I treated you as if you were a princess
Am C E
You treated me like a cop
Am C Dm Am
I gave you boundaries to save you from certain death
Am E Am
Dangling from the end of a rope

(then play the chorus again)

BRIDGE:
Dm Am
But you're still playing
F G C
For a love you'll never find
? Am F (let ring)
outside these arms of mine

VERSE 3:
Am C Dm Am
The whole town is one step behind you
Am C E
With the hangman on call
Am C Dm Am
They've got a judge and you're convicted without a plea
Am E Am
Darling they will listen to me (repeat 2 more times)
