Pedro The Lion

Bad Diary Days

by Pedro The Lion
Pedro The Lion

Biography:

Pedro the Lion is an indie rock band from Seattle, Washington. David Bazan formed the band in 1995 and represented its main creative force, backed by a varying rotation of collaborating musicians. After a shifting lineup, Pedro the Lion finally eventually became a one-man outfit. That man is David Bazan. A Seattle native, Bazan cut his teeth playing in hardcore bands before forming Pedro in 1995, taking the band's name from a character he made up for a possible children's book.

Bad Diary Days CHORDS
by Pedro the Lion

Standard Tuning

Kind of an acoustic take on this track, obviously sounds plenty different from the
actual song.

I've tabbed it out to mimic the same melody as in the the actual song, the strumming
will have to be a bit different and seeing as I don't know the names of all the variations
of chords i'll just give the main chord and give you the formation as how I play it with
the song, you can obviously mess around with what i've given- hope this is concise as
possible and sorry for not knowing the names of chords haha if it's confusing feel free
to message me and I can show you how i play it.

CAPO on the SECOND FRET

Intro:
Am G F

C C F G

So for the above:
C chords I play a normal C then at the end of it I mute the "e" string and play the
third fret on the "b" string
F chord I play the "e" string open, then the first fret "e" string
You can play this with the verse as well, but below, the F* I play like so: open "e"
string, then mute the "e" string and play the 3rd fret "b", then the 1st fret "b" while
still muting the "e"

C C
we barely ever fight
F G
she knows that i love her
C C
at first we made it every night
F*
but i don't want to bug her about it
Dm Am
she just has a funny way
G
of loving me

C C F G

C C
pair of ticket stubs in the desk
F G
a movie i've never seen
C C
i probably shouldn't ask
F*
it sounds so accusing
Dm Am
she must have forgot to mention
G
girl's night out

C C/B Am G

So for the above:
C chord- I mute the "e" string and play 1st fret "b", then 3rd fret "b", then play a
regular C chord
C/B chord- I mute the "e" string and play third fret "b", then 1st fret "b" then open
"b" string
Am- I play normal
G- I mute the "e" string and play the "b" string open

C C F G

C C
the breakfast cereal talked
F G
more than we did all day long
C C
i asked her for a walk
F G
but she had to be on her way
Dm Am
so i told her that i knew
G
she'd been stepping out

C C/B Am G
she swore that she could explain
C C/B Am G
she swore that it would not happen again
C C/B Am G
she swore that she could explain
C C/B Am
we both knew her words were in vain

So it keeps on going as: C C/B Am G
How I play it with the chords is as so:
C chord- 3rd fret "e" to 1st fret "e" to normal C chord
C/B chord- mute "e" string and play 3rd fret "b", then normal C/B chord still muting the
"e" string, then playing the "b" string open still muting the "e" string
Am chord is normal
G chord is normal.
