Pearl Jam played this song on Storytellers. Its a cover of a Phil Ochs tune from around
Civil Rights movement called "Here's to the State of Mississippi" but then in the early
with Vietnam he rewrote it and called it "Here's to the State of Richard Nixon". So
played his version and it goes something like this.

Standard Tuning EADGBe

G Cadd9 G
Here's to the judges of John Roberts
G Cadd9 D
Who wear the robe of honor in their phony legal fort
G Cadd9 D
And justices are stranger when the partisans report
G Cadd9 D
When the court elected the president, it was the beginning of this war.

G Em C D
Oh here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
G Em C D G
John Roberts, find yourself another country to be part of.

G Cadd9 G
And here's to the government of Dick Cheney
G Cadd9 D
With criminals posing as advisors to the crown
G
And they hope no one sees the sights
Cadd9 D
And that no one hears the sounds
G Cadd9 D
'Cause the speeches of our president are the ribbons of a clown.

G Em C D
Oh here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
G Em C D G
Dick Cheney, find yourself another country to be part of.

G Cadd9 G
And here's to the churches of Jerry Falwell.
G Cadd9 D
Or a cross once made of silver, now it's turned to rust
G Cadd9 D
And the Sunday morning services preaching fear of men in love
G Cadd9 D
And God only knows, in Heaven they must trust.

G Em C D
Oh here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
G Em C D G
Jerry Falwell, find yourself another country to be part of.

G Cadd9 G
And here's to the laws of Alberto Gonzales
G Cadd9 D
And congress will fasten that in the panic of the day
G Cadd9 D
The constitution's drowning in an ocean of decay
G Cadd9 D
And freedom of speech is dangerous I've even heard them say

G Em C D
Oh here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
G Em C D G
Gonzales, find yourself another country to be part of.

G Cadd9 G
And here's to the businessmen of George W.
G Cadd9 D
Who want to change the focus from Halliburton to Enron
G Cadd9 D
And their profits, like blood money spill out on the White House lawn
G Cadd9 D
And to keep a hold of power, they're using terror as it come
G
While the bombs that fall on children,
Cadd9
Don't know which side -
Cadd9
Don't care which side -
D
That they're on.

G Em C D
Oh here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
G Em C D G
George W., find yourself another country to be part of.

G Em C D
Oh here's to the land you've torn out the heart of
G Em C D G
George W., find yourself another country to be part of.
