Pavement - No More Kings
(From the Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks album)

[Intro]
F C G C
Rockin', rollin' splishin', splashin'
F C G
Over the horizon, what can it be?

[Verse 1]
C Am F C C Am F C
Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah-a Do it to me one time
C Am
The pilgrims sailed the sea
F C
To find a place to call their own so free
C Am
In their little ship, the Mayflower
F G
They hope to find a better home to be
F
They finally knocked on Plymouth Rock
G
And some one said we're there
C Am
It may not look like home
F G C
But at this point I don't care

[Verse 2]
F G C Am
Oh they were missing mother Eng------land
F G C
They swore their loyalty until the very end
F C
Anything you say King, it's OK King
F C
You know it's kinda scary on your own
F C
We've got to all just get together
F G C
Talk to call each other on our telephones

[Chorus]
N.C.
Oh I want no more
G C
king. Oh No more king.
G C
no more king no more king

[Bridge]
Am Em
You taxed our property you didn't give us any choice
Am Em
And meanwhile back in England you didn't give them any voice
F G
That's what I call taxation without representation
Em
And that's not fair
N.C.
(It's wrong! It's wrong!)

[Verse 3]
C Am F C C Am
(Spoken) It's a long list of mistakes you made King
F C
And let's start with the f-- worst

C Am7
You had the nerve to tax our cup of tea
F C
To put it kindly King: What? Did you expect me to agree?
C Am7
Gonna show you why we dumped it in the ocean
F C
Made the biggest harbor of tea you'll ever see

[Outro]
C
No more King We’re
Am
Gonna run our things our own way
F
Gonna run our things our own way
C
Gonna run it into the ground?
C
run our things our own way
Am
Gonna run our things our own way
F
Gonna run our things our own way
C
run it into the ground?
C Am F C C Am F C
into the ground, into the grououound ...
