Pavement

Biography:

Pavement was an indie rock band that formed in Stockton, California in 1989. For most of the period to 1999, the band consisted of Stephen Malkmus (vocals, guitar), Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg (guitar, vocals), Mark Ibold (bass), Steve West (drums) and Bob Nastanovich (percussion, vocals). I noticed there was no tab for this song, that wasn't a guitarpro, or a powertab,
and decided i would make a little simple acoustic version.
note, it's not really supposed to sound like the original version.
but it sounds close enough that if you played it to any true pavement fan,
they would know what you're doing.

Chords used: Em, G, B, D

Verse 1:

Em G
So much for destiny,
B D
A pin prick on my knee,
Em
The frost you paint
G B D
across our dead affair.
Em G
I sensed the toxic aura
B D
from the second we touched,
Em G
You were stitched up venom
B D
and I was the cursed from the Vedic.

Chorus 1:

Em G B D
Time is a one way track and I am not coming back,
B Em G B D
I dream in beige why'd you leave me so far now,
Em G
Time tired you're tainted through,
B D
wind, songs and substitutes,
B Em G B D
I dream in beige why'd you leave me so far now.

Verse 2:

Em G
The afterlife is steep,
B D
We wonder and retreat,
Em G B D
And everyone is after us.
Em G
Skirt the gone street hawkers
B D
with the black lemonade,
Em G
Keep an arrow trained on their
B D
conflicted minds 'cause they stutter.

Chorus 2/outro:

Em G B D
Time is the one way track and I am not coming back,
B Em G B D
I dream in beige why'd you lead me so far now,
Em G
Time tired you're tainted through,
B D
wins, songs and substitutes,
B Em G B D
I dream in beige why'd you lead me so far now,
B Em G B D
I bleed in beige why'd you lead me so far now,
B Em G B D
I bleed in beige why'd you lead me so far now,
B Em G B D
I bleed in beige why'd you lead me so far now,
B Em G B D
I bleed in beige why'd you lead me so far now!?
