Patrick Park

Starry Night

by Patrick Park
Patrick Park

Biography:

Patrick Park is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist.

Park grew up in Morrison, Colorado. He was exposed to the arts at an early age: his mother was a published poet, and his father was a doctor who enjoyed playing folk and blues records and the guitar at home. Park himself began to write songs in his early teens and played in bands starting in middle school.

He moved to New York City to try and start a music career, but left after less than eight months for Los Angeles

Starry Night- Patrick Park

Wonderful song by this awesome artist!

I came up with my own way to play the song, you can follow
it or not, but it sounds good!

Basically, finger pick the chords while playing the following melody
(figure out however you are most comfortable incorporating it)

In the chorus, I thought it sounded neat to throw in a Cadd9 instead of
a plain C chord. You can play either though

Cadd9:

E-0- -3-
B-3- -3-
G-0- -0-
D-2-OR-2-
A-3- -3-
E--- ---

Intro: (h = hammer-on)

G D Am C
E-3-2-0------2-0--------0--------------0-|
B--------0h3-----3--0h1---3-1--0h1-1-3---|
G----------------------------------------|
D----------------------------------------| Play this twice
A----------------------------------------|
E----------------------------------------|

VERSE 1

G D
Well I remember back when I was young

Am C
And king of all my days

G D
How I never used to worry about a thing

Am C
But time it turns the page

Am Em
Cause now my head is set to spin

B C
And my worries start where my worries end

BRIDGE (while playing C chord, do this
small scale on the bottom 2 strings)

C Em
E----------------------------------------|
B----------------------------------------|
G----------------------------------------|
D---------------2------------------------|
A-3-----3-2-----2------------------------|
E----3-----3-2--0------------------------|

CHORUS

Em Cadd9 G D
And everyone’s making me promises that burn like city lights

Em Cadd9 G D
But I’d trade every single one of them for a starry night

Em Cadd9
Where my mind don’t race like a spoiled child

G D
And I feel the warm wind blow

Am Em
Rolling down some dark highway

B C (No Chord)
Far far away from this big show.

Repeat Intro

VERSE 2 (Same chords)

Well living everyday in this strange parade it gets under my skin
It’s always things you think you want the most that tend to cage you in
Until you make the same mistakes time and time again.

CHORUS

Repeat Intro to end on G

Enjoy! Let me know if there are any issues!
