I'm submitting the chords rather than the tab because it would take a lifetime to properly tab out ;D
But I'm sure you'll get the gist of it after listening to it a couple of times.

Note for the Bm chord - he often uses the typical bass note progression (F# - A - B) to tie it all up.
Similarly when going into the G chord, he climbs up to it (E - F# - G). You'll notice it throughout the song.

[Intro]

Bm G E7

[Verse]

Bm G
Sun went careening

over the ceiling
E7 Bm
and crashed onto the plains
G A7 Bm
set fire to the amber waves of grain

Bm G
The moon it dances over acres and fences
E7 Bm
and waltzes down into the water
G A7 Bm
sounds like the ring that I bought her

[Pre-chorus]

G D
There's a gal in California
F#7 Bm
see her when I get off this rail
G A7 Bm
sent her one last letter in the mail

[Chorus]

G D
Will you wait for me, by the blue oak tree
F#7
will you marry me?
G D
I know I've been gone and this rail road's long
F#7 Bm
but I built it for to carry you a ring

[Verse]

Bm G
Twelve hour days for minimum wage
E7 Bm
and I'll carry every penny back to Sacramento
G A7 Bm
This black cherry yard will let me swing home

Bm G
Just a railroad man with railroad hands
E7 Bm
and I built this track to build you a home
G A7 Bm
I just built you a place to be alone

[Pre-chorus]

G
All the way to Promontory
D
I wrote a lover's story
F#7 Bm
and I'm coming back for to fulfill
G A7 Bm
the promises my letters did reveal

[Chorus]

G D
Will you wait for me, by the blue oak tree
F#7
will you marry me?
G D
I know I've been gone and this rail road's long
F#7 Bm
but I built it for to carry you a ring
G D
Will you wait for me, by the blue oak tree
F#7
will you marry me?
G D
Oh I've been gone and this railroads gone
F#7 Bm
But I built it for to carry you a ring
F#7 Bm
But I built it for to carry you a ring
F#7 Bm
But I built it for to carry you a ring
