Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

This is actually a fairly easy song to play once you’ve figured out where to put your capo - 4th fret.
I can’t sing in the register that Karen does, but at least using the capo I can transpose it to some key
that I can handle. Below are the chord forms as if the song were played without a capo – but to be able
to play it just as OTR does – capo at the 4th fret.

C G/D Am G/D
What a beautiful piece of heartache
C G/D Am G/D
This has all turned out to be
C G/D Am G/D
Lord knows we've learned the hard way
C G/D Am
All about healthy apathy
F C F G/D
And I use these words pretty loosely
F C F
There's so much more to life than words

C G/D Am F
There is a me you would not recognize, dear
C G/D Am F
Call it the shadow of myself
C G/D Am F
And if the music starts before I get there
C G/D Am F
Dance without me, you dance so gracefully
C G/D Am F
I really think I'll be okay
C G/D Am
They've taken their toll, these latter days

(Same pattern for the next verse and chorus)

Nothing like sleeping on a bed of nails
Nothing much here but our broken dream
Oh, but baby, if all else fails
Nothing is ever quite what it seems
And I'm dying inside to leave you
With more than just clichés

There is a me you would not recognize, dear
Call it the shadow of myself
And if the music starts before I get there
Dance without me, you dance so gracefully
I really think I'll be okay
They've taken their toll, these latter days

C G
Tell them it's real
Am F
Tell them it's really real
C G/D Am F
I just don't have much left to say
C G/D Am
They've taken their toll, these latter days
C G/D Am
They've taken their toll, these latter days
