Old Blind Dogs

Biography:

Old Blind Dogs is a musical group which plays Celtic folk and traditional Scottish folk music, with influences from rock, reggae and Middle Eastern music rhythms. The three founding members of the band (Ian F. Benzie, Buzzby McMillan and Jonny Hardie) first met during a so-called "buskers' holiday" in the Scottish Highlands in 1990, and after playing together for the summer decided to call themselves "Old Blind Dogs". Dave Francis and Carmen Higgins joined the band soon afterwards

Old Blind Dogs - Rolling Home

Capo 2

[Verse 1]
N.C.
Call all hands to man the capstan

See the cable running clear
N.C.
Heave around and with the wheel, boys

For our homeland we must steer

[Chorus]
N.C.
Rolling home, rolling home

Rolling home across the sea
N.C.
Rolling home to Caledonia

Rolling home, dear land, to thee

[Verse 2]
G C G
From the pines of California
C
And by Chile's endless strand
D G
We ha'e sailed the world twice over
D G
Every port in every land

[Chorus]
C G
Rolling home, rolling home
C
Rolling home across the sea
D G
Rolling home to Caledonia
D G
Rolling home, dear land, to thee

[Verse 3]
C G
And to all ye blaggard pirates
C
Who would chase us from the waves
D G
Heed ye well that those who've tried us
D G
Soon have found their watery graves

[Chorus]
C G
Rolling home, rolling home
C
Rolling home across the sea
D G
Rolling home to Caledonia
D G
Rolling home, dear land, to thee

[Verse 4]
C G
We were boarded in Jamaica
C
Where the Jolly Rodger flew
D G
But our swords were hardly drawn, boys
D G
'Ere they took a rosy hue

[Chorus]
C G
Rolling home, rolling home
C
Rolling home across the sea
D G
Rolling home to Caledonia
D G
Rolling home, dear land, to thee

[Verse 5]
C G
We return with precious cargo
C
And with bounty coined in gold
D G
And our sweethearts will rejoice, boys
D G
For they lo'e their sailors bold

[Chorus]
C G
Rolling home, rolling home
C
Rolling home across the sea
D G
Rolling home to Caledonia
D G
Rolling home, dear land, to thee

[Chorus]
N.C.
Rolling home, rolling home

Rolling home across the sea
N.C.
Rolling home to Caledonia

Rolling home, dear land, to thee
