[Intro]
C F (x4) C

[Verse]
F C G Am
Time is a cold wind blowing through the leaves,
F C G Am
Of a tired old tree I simply need,
F C G Am
Where i think about the world and i don't know how,
F G C
What'll happen to us now,

C F C

F C G Am
Peace is a ladder up to the clouds,
F C G Am
that i'm wishing i could climb but i don't know how,
F C G Am
so would you lend me a hand to the promised land,
F G C
where i'm headed glory bound,

[Chorus]
F C G Am
And it comes and it goes, where it's headed noone knows,
F C G C G C
And we come and we go, all the saints and the liars sitting by the fire,
Am G C
What'll happen to us now,

C F C

[Verse]
F C G Am
Hatred is a sharp knife held by the blade,
F C G Am
Its cutting in your palm til you feel no pain,
F C G Am
Burning in your eyes with a righteous rage,
F G C
Until the ashes blow away,

C F C

F C G Am
Love is a thing you can't define,
F C G Am
Though you try with all your might through the riddles and rhyme,
F C G Am
It'll fly you like a kite, it'll throw you to the ground,
F G C
And that's the best thing i have found,

[Chorus]
F C G Am
And it comes and it goes, where it's headed no-one knows,
F C G C G C
And we come and we go, like the winter and the spring losing everything,
Am G C
just to gain it back again,

[Bridge]
F C G Am F C G C G C Am G C F C
(basically the chorus chords)

Am C G F
But oh how pretty is the middle of June ?
Am C G F
And oh how pretty is the middle of June ?
Am C G F
And oh how pretty is the middle of June ?
Am C G F
And oh how pretty is the middle of June ?
