[Intro]
F/E Bbmaj7 Csus7-C7 x3

F/E Bbmaj7 Csus7

[Verse]
F/E Csus7-C7
How can we go on believing
F Csus7-C7
when nothing ever works out right,
F Csus7-C7
How can we go on living,
F Csus7-C7
With all the heartaches we seem to invite
F Csus7-C7
What makes us keep on trying,
F Csus7-C7
When the pieces never seem to fit,
F Csus7-C7
And all the tears we cry and the lying,
F Csus7
That the time is right to quit

[Pre-Chorus]
Csus7 Gm7 Bb Dm7
Somebody tell us how do we start
Gm7 C#
What we started, this old thing has gone on far too long

[Chorus]
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't leaving, nothing in the imagination
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't seeing, nothing but the end in sight
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't giving, room enough for inspiration
Gm7 C
How do we, go on

F/E Bbmaj7 Csus7 C7

F/E Bbmaj7 Csus7

[Second verse]
F/E Csus7-C7
Now we can try and talk about it,
F Csus7-C7
And say that words can heal the deeper wounds
F Csus7-C7
But when our pride won't allow it,
F Csus7-C7
We might as well give it up for good
F Csus7-C7
Just when we get up the courage,
F Csus7-C7
And look each other in the eyes
F Csus7-C7
Something starts coming over us,
F Csus7
Must be the love that won't let us die

[Pre-chorus]
Csus7 Gm7 Bb Dm7
Somebody tell us how did we start,
Gm7 C#
what we started, it's easier, much easier said than done

[Chorus]
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't leaving, nothing in the imagination
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't seeing, nothing but the end in sight
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't giving, room enough for inspiration
Gm7 C
How do we, go on

Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't leaving, nothing in the imagination
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't seeing, nothing but the end in sight
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7
We ain't giving, room enough for inspiration
Gm7 C
How do we, go on

[Outro]
Dm7 C Bb C Dm7 x 3
Gm7 C (repeat and fade)
