Ghosts

by Nicole Dollanganger
Nicole Dollanganger

Biography:

Nicole Dollanganger is a singer-songwriter from Stouffville, an eerily silent suburb of Toronto. She has been releasing her music without any label support via https://nicoledollanganger.bandcamp.com since 2012 before she was signed in 2015 by Eerie Organization, the collective/artist incubator run by Claire Boucher aka Grimes. Her music is characterized by her innocent-sounding voice accompanied by a spare instrumentation that stands in stark contrast to dark, sometimes macabre lyrics.

Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

[Verse 1]
G Em
the Autumn wind carries all of the ghosts
G Em
they catch on me and hide under his sheets
G Em
they make their nests in my clothing seams
G Em
possessing my bones and my being

[Verse 2]
G Em
we waited til' the morning where the sun did rise
G Em
but the moon still lingered in his weary eyes
G Em
ghosts fill my head with such rotten things
G Em
and with the lonliness that the cold air brings

[Verse 3]
G Em
the room was dim so I doubt that he could see
G Em
my cold, shaking hands and my reddened cheeks
G Em
a part of me wished to crawl under his sheets
G Em
but I sincerely doubted that we would sleep

[Verse 4]
G Em
we waited til the morning where the sun did rise
G Em
but the moon still lingered in his weary eyes
G Em
betraying a good heart to satisfy mine
G Em
he's a ghost I never thought I'd find
