Fever

by Maps And Atlases
Maps And Atlases

Biography:

Maps & Atlases is a math pop group from Chicago, Illinois.
Maps & Atlases formed in the fall of 2004 when the founding members met in art school at Columbia College Chicago in the South Loop of Chicago. Shiraz Dada (bass), Chris Hainey (drums), Dave Davison (guitar/vocals), and Erin Elders (guitar) got together to try to find a sound that is both technical and organic, in the same vein as their influences Don Caballero and Hella.
Shiraz Dada is the only member of the group who is born and raised in the Chicago area.

Fever - Maps Atlases

C
When the fever passes
At the bottom of
The cotton in the background
In the background of the flood

F Dm C
Dry among the dry among the wet and the rotten

C
When the fever passes
Next to the brimming well
The worst is more than over
And anyone can tell

F
When the fever passes
Dm C
And we're all back in our nests
D F C
We'll be extravagant hosts instead of the imposing guests

CHORUS:

D F C
And all that you know of this is what you have heard
C
I'm not sure even the best of us I'm not sure even the best of us
D F C
And all that you know of this is what you have heard
C
I'm not sure even the best of us I'm not sure even the best of us
D F C
Can care all the time

C
When the fever passes
When we don't know what to do
We'll buy twice as many comforts
Just like we used to do

F
When the fever passes
Dm C
When the fever clears
D F C
Oh we'll look back on these quietly like they're someone else's years

CHORUS:

At the bottom of
The cotton in the background
In the background of the flood

F Dm C
Dry among the dry among the wet and the rotten
