Nana Grizol

Cynicism

by Nana Grizol
Nana Grizol

Biography:

"Less of a band than an exuberant orbit of bright weird planets circling the joyful kinesis of main-songster Theo Hilton, Nana Grizol's debut album "Love It Love It" sees release on Orange Twin on May 13, 2008. Recorded in their hometown of Athens Georgia directly after a month-long tour of DIY spaces across the States, this record finds the band brimming with energy and rightly well-honed where live performance is concerned; "Love It Love It" sacrifices none of the band's beloved, sweat-stained essence.

[Intro]
C F G G

[Verse 1]
C F G
I once saw a sunset so vivid and warm that I swore it was perfect
C F G
I once had a lover, I'm not sure if I'll recover, but I know it was worth it
C F
Then, last night in the car, the falling raindrops looked like stars of some
G
incalculable speed
F Fm C
Then later, my friends said "Good to see you again, this is a home to me"

[Chorus]
F C
So I wrote a song and I called it "The Love of my Life"
F G
Said "don't be gone long", it now sings me to sleep every night

[Verse 2]
C F G
And I never learned a lesson looking at my own reflection, but sometimes it seems useful
C F G
So I loosen my heart strings in high hopes of starting to find something truthful

[Chorus]
F C
Cynicism isn't wisdom, it's a lazy way to say that you've been burned
F Fm
It seems, if anything, you'd be less certain after everything you ever learned

[Outro]
C F G G (x4)
