Born in Venice, Italy
I don't think anyone dreamed he'd see...what he saw
He had to wait...until he was 15
To meet his father and his uncle for the first time
They had just returned from China and they said,
"We're going back, do you want to come along?"

Now everybody knows him as...

So they traveled along silk road across the desert of emptiness
And over the rooftop of the world
They rode their camels from one end of the Gobi desert to the other
And through the valley of the singing sands
When they arrived in China, they were greeted by the Khan
In his Palace of gold, silver and pearls
Marco became ambassador for the Khan
Traveling around his empire for the next 17 years.
Now everybody knows him as...
