Montgomery Gentry

Ill Keep The Kids

by Montgomery Gentry
Montgomery Gentry

Biography:

Montgomery Gentry was a country music duo, founded in the 1990s, consisting of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry. Eddie Montgomery is the older brother of John Michael Montgomery. Some sources say that Troy Gentry is the son of Bobbie Gentry, which is untrue. Troy's parents are Lloyd and Pat Gentry. Eddie, Troy, and John were in a band called Early Tymz. Eddie and Troy continued to perform after John left to pursue a solo career. The duo went through several name changes before they decided to call themselves Montgomery Gentry.

Recorded by Montgomery Gentry
Album (EP) : Friends And Family (2012)

(No Capo)

Intro.: |(D) |(Em) |(A) |(D) |

(D)You don't have to holler and (Em)we don't have to fight
We can (A) settle all this right here (D) right now tonight

No (D)need to call no lawyer, you don't (Em)have to pack no bags
It's (A) obvious all you want is (D)half more than your half

I see (Bm)here on this paper, you (A)wrote what you want down
You want (G)me to sign over what was (A)ours is all yours now

Take the (D)house that my sweat built ya, here's the (Em)keys to both the cars
I'll (G)do you up the title to my old (A)Harley in the barn
Take (D)all our family pictures and my (Em)records off the wall
And (G)any other sign of living proof that (A)I lived here at all

I can't (Bm)help but not see a (A)couple little things (G)not there on your (F#m)list
So if you don't (Em) care, (A) I'll keep the (D)kids

Inst.: / / / |(Em) |(A) |(D) |

(D) Look at dad's old Gibson, I (Em)see you wrote that down
Girl, (A) that's below the belt, (D) but its all yours now

There's (D)grandma's diamond ring, she wore (Em)fifty some odd years
She'll (A) probably roll over in her grave, but (D) I'll leave it here, I'm (A)outa here

Take the (D)bass boat and that tractor, all my (Em)guns and Earnhardt hat
Every (G)nickle we had tucked away and 20 (A)years I can't get back
Take the (D)shirt right off my shoulders, hope it (Em)fits, oh, whats his name
Take (G)everything you think your world re-(A)volves around ever day

I can't (Bm)help but not see a (A)couple little things (G)not there on your (F#m)list
So if you don't (Em) care, (A) I'll keep the (D)kids

Inst.: / / / |(Em) |(G) |(A)

(A#m) I can't (Bm)help but not see a (A)couple little things (G)not there on your (F#m)list
So if you don't (Em) care, (A) I'll keep the (D)kids
