Mike McClure

Modello

by Mike McClure
Mike McClure

Biography:

Hailing from Stillwater, Oklahoma, The Great Divide was a grass roots working band that attempted to meet the country music industry head on with its work ethic, tenacity, genuine likeability, and hard-hitting style. Over the past fifteen years The Great Divide steadily progressed the hill of the unforgiving music industry, proving not only their musical talents, but also their business savvy before disbanding in 2007.

In 1993 the group formed their own record label, publishing company and operating company, and began recording.

G
I got dust on my tennis shoes
C G
Couple empty bottles of beer
D
They were called Modello
C
They were made in Mexico,
G
They were pretty good.

I got a jar full of pennies
Nickels, quarters, and dimes
I gave the orders
Don’t you take my quarters
She gets them every time

C
She’s my lady
G
And we fight sometimes
D
Drive each other crazy
C G
Plumb out of our freaking mind
C
At the end of the day
G Em
It don’t matter what you say
D G
She’ll be standing right by my side

I stayed out late last night at a friend’s garage
Until 2:00 am
We were listening to the stones
Smoking a couple bowls
Taking it all in

I only told her I’d be gone a little while
Said baby don’t you worry none
She was mad as hell
I came in and fell
Right back in love

I got dust on my tennis shoes
Couple empty bottles of beer
They were called Modello
They were made in Mexicoa,
They were pretty good
