I just looked out my window and it gave my heart a thrill

Am D7 G7
To see dogwoods blooming on the side of that ol' hill

C Em F Fm
For the first time in a long time I feel as good as new

C F G7 C
And I'm hungry for the sunshine by me gettin' over you

F C
I can hear those bluebirds singin' as I stroll that ol' mountain side

Am D7 G7
And I'm thankful to the good Lord I still remember how to smile

C Em F Fm
Thought I can't believe I've never wanted to see another flower bloom

C F G7 C
And I'm hungry for the sunshine by me gettin' over you

F G7 C
I'm getting over the memory of a pain you put me through

D7 G7
This broken heart's nearly mended and my mind's feeling too

C Em F Fm
I've been hiding in the shadows of a lonely darken room

C F G7 C
And I'm hungry for the sunshine by me gettin' over you

F G7 C
Yes I'm hungry for the sunshine by me gettin' over you
