Michigan Rattlers

Just Good Night

by Michigan Rattlers
Michigan Rattlers

Biography:

Michigan Rattlers is an American country-folk duo comprising Graham Young and Adam Reed.

Upholding a time-honored songwriting tradition, Michigan Rattlers recount human stories through a soundtrack of Americana punctuated by countrified rock 'n' roll and folk. The subjects of their 2016 self-titled debut EP practically live and breathe between Graham Young's rustling guitar and Adam Reed's percussive upright bass. Born in Petoskey, MI and based in Los Angeles, the duo's music plays out like a film.

[Verse 1]
D
Monday morning coming on
D
I've been driving all night
D
Starting to swerve back and forth
D
But everything will be alright
Em G
If I just pull off to the side of the road
D
And get a new pack of smokes

[Verse 2]
D
First light is 6:45
D
And the sun is up at seven
D
Well it got so dark last night
D
I thought the sun had died and gone to heaven
Em G
Yeah but sure enough, here it comes
D
And it's a sight for my eyes

[Verse 3]
D
Radio makes me crazy
D
And the silence does the same
D
But there's a savior of a sunrise
D
Just behind the mountain range
Em G
And there's a woman at the end of this road
D
Who knows my name

[Chorus]
G D
Make some room here
A D
You know I'm coming through dear
G D A D
I will stay for as long as I can
G D A D
Hold me tight and I'll hold you tight
G F# Em A D
Well this ain't goodbye it's just good night

[Verse 4]
D
Now I'm looking for the right key
D
That will turn the lock
D
And my bags are weighing heavy
D
And my patience has run its course
Em
Yeah but you're the lucky one
G D
If you get to leave your bag at the door

[Verse 5]
D
My eyes are closing now
D
With that sun high in the sky
D
And exhaustion coming 'round
D
Turning out my light
Em G
Oh but I'll be here again tomorrow
D
So this is just good night

[Chorus]
G D
Yeah well, Make some room here
A D
You know I'm coming through dear
G D A D
I will stay for as long as I can
G D A D
Hold me tight and I'll hold you tight
G F# Em A D
Well this ain't goodbye it's just good night

G D
And so, make some room here
A D
You know I'm coming through dear
G D A D
I will stay for as long as I can
G D A D
Hold me tight and I'll hold you tight
G F# Em A D
Well this ain't goodbye it's just good night
G F# Em A D
Well this ain't goodbye it's just good night

D
