Biography:

Michael Penn (born August 1, 1958, in Greenwich Village, New York City) is an American singer and songwriter. He is the son of actor/director Leo Penn and actress Eileen Ryan, and the brother of actors Sean Penn and the late Chris Penn.

Prior to the release of his 1989 debut album March, Penn performed the song "This & That" with his band The Pull on a 1987 episode of Saturday Night Live. Before that, he was a member of the Los Angeles band Doll Congress and had appeared as an extra on a few television series, including St. Elsewhere.

Well, here's the best response I can think of to:

Notes: 1) I assume you've heard the song.
2) No capo - all chords are first position open.
3) For the C chords during the bridge, use a standard 1st
position C but play the G on the high E string with the pinky so
that the voicing moves more like the slide guitar on the album.
4) I finger the F#7b9 lick at the end of Chorus I like this:

5) The G->G/F#->Em and D(sus) stuff is very typical of Penn...

I wish I had time to type in all the lovely twiddles and chord patterns,
but this is the best I can do and still have a job... If you've heard
the song, it'll be easy to figure out those details...
