[Intro]
G

[Verse 1]
G
He was a boy from a steel town
Eb F G
He soon had a look in his eye
G F Eb
Not the look of child but the wild look of fury
F G
Like an animal caught in the wire

G
School was the streets of town
Eb F G
His lessons he learned with his fists
G F Eb
Not a mean man he just felt all alone
F G
Like a wolf on a hill in a mist

G
Fast cars, new friends and machismo
Eb F G
Drove him away from his past
G F Eb
Running from the law, running from himself
D
An outlaw who lived life to fast

[Chorus]
G C G
How high is high enough
G C G
How low can a body go
G Bm C
How deep before you know
D
When you're having too much fun
D
Don't you know when you're on the run
D
And you're living under the gun
G C G
How high is high enough

After Chorus
G
Eb F G x 4

[Verse]
G
When does a man know he is alone
Eb F G
Who does he see in the mirror
G
Where did he go wrong and could we have helped
Eb F G
Why does it feel he's here
G
Maybe someday we will learn from the past
Eb F G
G F Eb
That way his life will not have been a waste
D
And the good won't die young anymore

[Chorus]
G C G
How high is high enough
G C G
How low can a body go
G Bm C
How deep before you know
D
When you're having too much fun
D
Don't you know when you're on the run
D
And you're living under the gun
G C G
How high is high enough

G C G
How High is High enough
