[Intro]
Em G C D G EM G C D G G/F#

[Verse]
Em C
Minnie was a mother to a hundred or more
D G
in Winton town
Em C
Red faced mamas come a knocking on her door
D G G/F#
The whole ten pounds
D G C
Winter in the south makes the heart beat slow
Em D G
But hearts beat slower in the garden below
C Em
Then three went missing and the men started digging in the ground, the ground
C Em
the men started digging in the ground, three found, bring poor Minnie downtown
D Em
But a woman won't hang in Winton town

[Instrumental]
G Em C D G Em G C D G D G C Em D G G/F#

[Verse]
Em C
Hundreds in the room while Minnie stood trial
D G
Many more outside
Em C
Minnie you're accused of a serious crime
D G
Infanticide
D G C
The crowd all cheered as the gavel rang
Em D G
But have mercy on the soul of a woman who hangs
C Em
Then they carried her away and the crowd all followed her down
C
Down, the crowd all followed her down, three found
Em
Everybody gathered round
D Em
To see a woman hang in Winton town
D Em
Oh see a woman hang in Winton town
