[Intro]
E B A E

[Verse]
B
Oh, The Laramie lights
E
Sparkle like diamonds
B
Like the stars fallen down from the night
C#m
They just kept a-shining
A
And there's a runaway train
B
On the high desert plain
C#m A
Untamed and it won't be fenced in
E B
And it's known by the name
E
Of the Wyoming Wind

[Verse]
B
It'll rip through a man
E
Like a bullet, but faster
E B
From Cody on down to Cheyenne
C#m
Clear through to Nebraska
A
Oh, it howls and it haunts
B
Goes where it wants
C#m A
It'll taunt you and get under your skin
E B
No, there ain't no shelter
E
From the Wyoming Wind

[Verse]
C#m
As the tears you did weep
A
Washed the blood from your cheeks
E B
And the stars faded into the blue
C#m
When you heard the wind blowing
A
Did you feel more alone
E B
Or did it sound like god whispering to you?

[Verse]
E
Wide open spaces
B E
And nothing but time to forget
B
Anger flares up and then fades
C#m
like a cowboy cigarette
A
Reservation ghosts
B
Old split-rail fence posts
C#m A
Just echoes remain of our sins
E B
They whine, whine, whine
E
On the Wyoming Wind
E B
Yes, they whine, whine, whine
E
On the Wyoming Wind
