[Intro]
C Am G F G C

[Verse 1]
F C
Out here on this road just after midnight
Am F C G
Silver sickle rising in the east
Am F
I'm steady on the wheel
C F
But I know just how you feel
C Dm G
So just lean back and try to catch some sleep

[Chorus]
C F G
Go to sleep my darling
C Dm G
There's just a fingernail moon up above
C F G
Go to sleep my darling
F G C
Am I the one that you'll be dreaming of

[Verse 2]
F C
To think of every back road we have traveled
Am F C G
Of all the restless miles we have run
Am F
If you chance to find a trace
C F
Of a smile on my face
C Dm G
I'm just dreaming of the miles we've still to come

[Chorus]
C F G
Go to sleep my darling
C Dm G
There's just a fingernail moon up above
C F G
Go to sleep my darling
F G C
Am I the one that you'll be dreaming of

[Verse 3]
F C
To me you are a compass and companion
Am F C G
You follow me down every road I ride
Am F
Wherever I may roam
C F
I'm already home
C Dm G
As long as you are travelling by my side

[Chorus]
C F G
Go to sleep my darling
C Dm G
There's just a fingernail moon up above
C F G
Go to sleep my darling
