Manfred Mann

Biography:

Manfred Mann was a British beat, rhythm and blues and pop band (with a strong jazz foundation) of the 1960s, named after their South African keyboardist, Manfred Mann, who later led the successful 1970s group Manfred Mann's Earth Band. [Verse 1]

C F C F G
When I was ten I kissed the vicar's daughter
C F G
At fourteen I was holding someone's hand
C F C F G
At fifteen I tried things I didn't oughta
F G C
And now I'm getting near to wedding plans

[Verse 2]

C F C F G
But still somehow I miss my vicar's daughter
C F G
I chased her round the church to steal a kiss
C F C F G
And I can see her smiling as I caught her
F G C
Her innocence is something I still miss

[Bridge]

Dm G Dm G
No one ever will give me half the thrill
C G C
I got that summer's day
Dm G Dm G
She was just a child I was running wild
Am D G
looking for a game to play

[Verse 3]

C F C F G
Has anybody seen my vicar's daughter
C F G
Perhaps now she's a woman of the world
C F C F G
But if you see her tell her I adored her
F G C F G
That summer's day when I was ten years old
F G C F G
That summer's day when I was ten years old
F G C F G
That summer's day when I was ten years old
