[Verse 1]
Em
There's no reason in the things we say
D
and shout at one another
G
We're three sheets to the wind
C
and every word just pulls us under
G D
All the dirt we've piled upon our layers of decay
C D
Just love me darling, I think I could stay

[Chorus]
D G
Love me like you used to do way back when
D Em
before the rug was pulled beneath your feet
C
and you fell back in the saddle
G
left time standing still
D
put all your troubles right on me

[Verse 2]
Em D
To say we've got your problems is an understatement, true
G C
But in your times of clarity I found the light in you
G D
So when your skin is crawling and that light begins to fade
C D
Just love me darling, I think I could stay

[Chorus]
D Em
Love me like you used to do way back when

[Solo]
Em D G C G D C D

[Verse 3]
Em D
If I could take your pain away, you'd never have to try
G C
Maybe then, just maybe, we could lead a normal life
G D
Freedom has new meaning, tattoo your ball and chain
C D
Just love me darling, I think I could stay

[Chorus]
D G
Love me like you used to do way back when
D Em
before the rug was pulled beneath your feet
C
and you fell back in the saddle
G
left time standing still
D
put all your troubles right on me

[Solos]

[Outro]
