[Verse]
B
Yesterday I told my sons, "Sometimes the bad guys win."
F#
And that it made me scared about the world that we live in
G#m
But I had to reassure them that it wouldn't be for long
E
Sons we have to be ourselves, we have to be strong

B
I said, 'Boys you are the future, so let this be a lesson
F#
There may come a day you have to fight off their aggression
G#m
Cause fear and hatred won today, the darkness ate the light,"
E
But both of you look in my eyes, it'll be all right.

B
In every step you take
F#
I'm with you all the way
G#m
Cause I would die for you, and do what's right for you
E
In hopes that when I'm gone, you'll carry on
E
These words I wrote for you

[Chorus]
F#
'Til then
E
I'll sing

B F#
Stand your ground
G#m E
Don't let the bastards grind you down
B F#
Be bold, be strange
G#m E
Don't let their fears make you afraid
F# E
There's hope, they'll change

[Verse]
B
Well I looked out to the world today, thought 'What a bloody mess!'
F#
They stripped our morals from us, put 'em under house arrest
G#m
'Liberty and country' are the words they need to speak
E
A little “god,” a little “freedom,” if we don’t agree, we're weak

B
And every politician stood there idle and so smug
F#
Empowering the racists and Second Amendment thugs
G#m
Wall St. and the billionaires, convinced us they’re so smart
E
Saying “vote with your wallet, instead of with your hearts!”

B
But we won't go away!
F#
You won’t forget our name!
G#m
The pussy generation, the PC and the brave
E
The protesters that slink along these streets of misery

[Chorus]
F#
And so...
E
I'll sing

B F#
Stand your ground
G#m E
Don't let the bastards grind you down
B F#
Be bold, be strange
G#m E
Don't let their fears make you afraid
F# E
There's hope, they'll change
F#
We'll change
E
We'll change

[Interlude]
B
No, no, no, no, no. Fuck no
F#
No, no, no, no, no. Fuck no
G#m E
No, no, no, no, no. Fuck no!

[Verse]
B
So give us all your faggots, all your niggas, and your spics
F#
Give us all your Muslims, the so-called terrorists
G#m
We'll welcome 'em with open arms and put 'em in our mix
E
We're better off together now, embrace our difference

B
Remember there is love!
F#
Our words can stop their guns
G#m
Forget the rednecks, living in the past
E
We're never going back now, we've reached critical mass!

F#
And so...
E
I'll sing

[Outro]
B F#
Stand my ground
G#m E
Won’t let the bastards grind me down
B F#
I’m bold, I’m strange
G#m E
Won’t let their fears make me afraid
F# E
There’s hope, they’ll change
