Mac Demarco

by Mac Demarco
Mac Demarco

Mac DeMarco is the antithesis to your stereotypical singer-songwriter. Disregarding the seriously somber moments, he replaces them with whimsical and youthful spontaneity, whilst retaining endearing and subtle commentaries. Promptly after leaving his Edmonton garage for Vancouver he embarked on a grand voyage of enlightenment and alcoholic debauchery.

DeMarco’s a weird cat, cultivating an affinity for occult imagery, nudity and social satire. But

Ok so there are couple of ways to play this. The best if you want to make things easier for you in the
beginning is to play Barre chords. The rythm is harder to get down, but watch a video of him playing it
acoustically and you get some idea of how the rythm and bass can be played to spice things up.
This requires no capo, but it might require it if you want to plat the tabs.
Basic chords are G, C, and Am, which should be played with the rythm of 4G 2C 4Am 2C. That is for the
verse and the intro. The chorus is played: G, D#, G# and Am.

G C Am C
G C Am C

G C Am C
mommy's in the kitchen, cooking up something good
G C Am C
and daddy's on the sofa, pride of the neighborhood
G C Am C
my brother's in the ballet, it seems he's got it set
G C Am C
and I'll be up at midnight, with my cigarette
G D# G# (Am)
ooh when life moves this slowly
G D# G# (Am)
ooh just try and let it go
G D# G# (Am)
ooh when life moves this slowly
G D# G# (Am)
ooh just try and let it go
C
G C Am C
daddy's in the basement, cooking up something fine
G C Am C
while rick's out on the pavement, flipping it for dimes
G C Am C
if there's anything redeeming, I haven't seen it yet
G C Am C
and I'm still up at midnight, chewing nicorette
G D# G# (Am)
ooh when life moves this slowly
G D# G# (Am)
ooh just try and let it go
G D# G# (Am)
ooh when life moves this slowly
G D# G# (Am)
ooh just try and let it go
