Lynn Miles - You're Not Coming Back

INTRO: G D Em C G D G C G

D Em C
The tomcats and the babies are howling at the moon
G D
The days are too short and the nights come too soon
G D Em C
There's cold in the future and there's rain in the wind
G D
Nobody's outside, there's a storm coming in
Em C Em C
All the leaves have left, the carnival's gone
Em C D
The neighbours have quit trying to spruce up their lawns

G D Em C
Storm windows are up, sunflowers are dead
G D
The pumpkins are done, there's geese overhead
G D Em C
And the all hills they turn yellow, they turn red, they turn sad
G D
And everybody is talking about the summer they had
Em C Em C
And that car that you fixed, well, it broke down again
Em C D
And I know that the world's never gonna feel quite the same

INTERLUDE: G D Em C G D G C G

D Em C
It's a done deal it's over, it's faded to black
G D G D G D G
You're turning your key and you're not coming back
