To My Dearest Wife - Lucero

(tabbed with help of R. Easley)

notes - G's are the British G adding the D at the third fret of the B string
- * = a quick strum with all strings open when after a C chord. When after a G it is jsut a quick
lifting on the E and A string one strum during the G chord
- C2 = just a quick strum of just the A(3rd fret) and D (2nd fret)strings while moving your first
two fingers from a G chord to C chord.
- You will need listen to the song to get the timing of the strums

The vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored

Now the sun is risen, you mean the world to me

They're dug in on the hilltop, we leave the cover of the trees
Em Em7 Em Am C G C G
We'll march across that open field that looks like hell to me

[Final Chorus]

Em C G
And to my dearest wife I write
Em C G
Kiss our baby girls tonight
Em C G
Tomorrow's battle will not wait
Em C G
I don't see no other way

The bride of war wears blood and fire
Em C G
Hand in hand Death walks beside her
Em C G
We'll cross the field, lay all to waste
Em C G
I don't see no other way

Em C G
And to my dearest wife I write
Em C G
Kiss our baby girls tonight
