Lotte Kestner

The Falling Snow

by Lotte Kestner
Lotte Kestner

Biography:

Lotte Kestner is the solo project of Anna-Lynne Williams of Trespassers William.

China Mountain (named after a mountain range in southern Oregon) was recorded over a year in her basement bedroom, and mixed in a Seattle studio with Trespassers bandmate Matt Brown. Most of the songs are built around acoustic guitar and several tracks of voice, and a bit of harmonica, keys, drums, ukulele, and harp. She was assisted on a few songs by friends - including Jeff Martin of Idaho on two of the album's tracks.

The Falling Snow (Damien Jurado)

This is a absolutely beautiful cover version of a Damien Jurado song  by Anna-Lynne Williams
(AKA Lotte Kestner) from her great record 'Stolen'
I won't tab the picking pattern for the bass notes because it's slightly difficult and
I'd reckon if your able to fingerpick to that level you'll be able to figure it out anyway

Bb: 013330   C : 035550  Dm: 000231  F: 133211

I use a standard C : 032010 for the last two verses and refrain, so you can hammer on the high E

032010 / 032013 / 032011 / 032010

Capo 1

Bb       C            Bb
When you fell, you fell so hard
         C           Bb
Reaching for me in the falling snow
           C                   Bb
I would've stayed, you said I should go
             C       Bb  C    Bb   C
How will you make it home? oh

Bb                 C              Bb
Leaving your way, I heard you got lost
            C                    Bb
Losing your voice to the ground below
             C                    Bb
And i stayed awake until you were home
                C             Bb    C     Bb    C
It was days and days and days oh

Dm        F
Come down from your mountain
C                    Bb
You've been gone too long
Dm                   F
If you will then you should say so,
C                      Bb
Don't leave me hanging on

Dm               F
Out from my open window,
C                 Bb
We could hear you breathing
Dm                 F
Hold on but it does not hold on
C              Bb
Every mountain falls

Dm       F                 C     Bb
Somebody said you would be gone.
Dm       F                 C     Bb
Somebody said you would be gone
