INTRO:

C G D C (play progression 2x)

1ST VERSE:

C G
I wish you'd never even loved me
D C
It makes it so hard to live without love now
C G
I know you're often thinking of me
C
Sometimes I feel you so close by
D G
That it takes all my might to keep from trying to track you down

2ND VERSE:

C G
I can surely keep you out of sight
D C
Forget about the way you look, your smile, the way you speak
C G
But I've heard in the dead of night
C
Outside my window silence breaking
D G
With the solid destination of your lonesome speed

CHORUS:

D
I know the sound of your wheels
Dsus4 D C G
Yeah, yeah, yeah
D
I know the sound of your wheels
Dsus4 D C G
Yeah, yeah, yeah
D Dsus4 D C
I know the sound of your wheels

C G D C

3RD VERSE:

C G
I had a handle on my sorrow
D C
My composure was in order if not sufficiently intact
C G
But every reminiscent echo
C
Brings a blow to chill my senses
D G
And my heart quakes and tenses 'til these moments pass

CHORUS:

D
I know the sound of your wheels
Dus4 D C G
Yeah, yeah, yeah
D
I know the sound of your wheels
Dsus4 D C G
Yeah, yeah, yeah
D Dsus4 D C
I know the sound of your wheels

BRIDGE:

Em D
Every trace, every vision
C D
Brings my emotions to collision
Em D
Past love's lost tokens
C D
Every cherished thought once spoken
Em D C
False hope of reconciliation, yeah

C G D C (play progression 2x)
