Lindisfarne - When Friday Comes Along

CAPO: 2nd Fret

## NOTE: ~ = Walk-Down from C to Am ##

[INTRO:] Am Dm Bb C F

[VERSE 1:]
C F
One more Monday morning at the station
C F
See the hangdog faces we all wear
Am Dm Bb
They don't know I know the combination
C F
When Friday comes along, I'm gonna get my share

[VERSE 2:]
C F
Season ticket holders, please, forgive me
C F
I've had enough of Monday morning rain
Am Dm Bb
I wonder if you knew you'd all come with me
C F
When Friday comes along, I'll never be the same

[VERSE 3:]
C F
Well, I've done more than my share
C F
I know more about laissez-faire
C ~ Am G Dm7 G
Than to sit and wait until my ship comes in
C F
It took a whole lot of getting wise
C F
And just a little bit of free enterprise
C ~ Am G Dm7 G Dm7 G Dm7 G
Before I realised that stealing is no sin

[VERSE 4:]
C F
Drag my name through scandal and sensation
C F
Read about it on the Southern Line
Am Dm Bb
I'm going where I need no reputation
C F
When Friday comes along, it's gonna work out fine

[VERSE 5:]
C F
I've got a ticket on a 747
C F
And I'll be dancing all the way to heaven
C ~ Am G Dm7 G
When I get that Friday midnight flight down south
C F
And when my working day is done
C F
I'll sell the story to the Sun
C ~ Am G Dm7 G Dm7 G Dm7 G
'Cause I could never look a gift-horse in the mouth

[VERSE 6:]
N.C. C F
So, if you get that early train next Monday
C F
Say I won't go down without a fight
Am Dm Bb
Even if I'm doing time by Sunday
C F
When Friday comes along, I'm gonna be alright
C F
Yes, when Friday comes along, I'm gonna be alright

[OUTRO:] C F C F C ~ Am G Dm7 G
