CAPO: 5th Fret

[INTRO:] C

[VERSE 1:]
F C
We're all met together here to sit and to crack
F G
Wi' our glasses in our hands and our work upon our back
C F C
There's nae a trade among 'em that can mend or can mak
G C
If it was'nae for the work of the weavers

[CHORUS:]
G Am Em
If it was'nae for the weavers, what would you do
F C F G
Ya would'nae hae clothes that's made outta wool
C G F C
Ya would'nae hae a coat o' the black or the blue
G C
If it was'nae for the work of the weavers

[VERSE 2:]
F C
Some folk are independent of other tradesmen's work
F G
The women need no barber and dykers need no cleft
C F C
But none of them can do without a coat or a sack
G C
No, they can'nae wand the work of the weavers

[CHORUS:]
G Am Em
If it was'nae for the weavers, what would you do
F C F G
Ya would'nae hae clothes that's made outta wool
C G F C
Ya would'nae hae a coat o' the black or the blue
G C
If it was'nae for the work of the weavers

[VERSE 3:]
F C
There's soldiers and there's sailors and glaziers and all
F G
There's doctors and there's ministers and them that live by law
C F C
And our friends in Sooth America, though them we never saw
G C
But we ken they wear the work of the weavers

[CHORUS:]
G Am Em
If it was'nae for the weavers, what would you do
F C F G
Ya would'nae hae clothes that's made outta wool
C G F C
Ya would'nae hae a coat o' the black or the blue
G C
If it was'nae for the work of the weavers

[VERSE 3:]
F C
The weavin' is a trade that never can fail
F G
As long as we need clothes for to keep another hale
C F C
So let us all be merry o'er a bicker o' good ale
G C
And we'll drink to the health of the weavers

[CHORUS:]
G Am Em
If it was'nae for the weavers, what would you do
F C F G
Ya would'nae hae clothes that's made outta wool
C G F C
Ya would'nae hae a coat o' the black or the blue
G C
If it was'nae for the work of the weavers
