[Intro]
E

[Verse]
E
She came down from up near Katherine
A E
Moved in across the ridge
E B
She was everything a young man could desire
E
Out there in the ranges
A E
In secret we would meet
E B E
My heart ran as wild as desert fire

[Chorus]
E
Like a burning sun beating down
B E
She sparked a flame on virgin ground
A E
And if by chance a fire should start
B E E
No one could tame the burning heart

[Verse]
E
Well her father owned the station
A E
Where I rode the boundry fences
E B
And he made it clear for all the hands to see
E
That a man could easily wind up
A E
On the wrong end of his shot gun
E B E
And his little girl was only seventeen

[Chorus]
E
Like a burning sun beating down
B E
She sparked a flame on virgin ground
A E
And if by chance a fire should start
B E
No one could tame the burning heart

[Break]
E A E E B E F

[Verse]
F
She came on me like the summer
Bb F
wrapped around me like the wind
F C
And my defenses buckled in the heat
F
Out there on the station
Bb F
The sun set amber glow
F C F
As our lips met a fire was released

[Chorus]
F
Like a burning sun beating down
C F
She sparked a flame on virgin ground
Bb F
And if by chance a fire should start
C F
No one could tame the burning heart

[Outro]
F
Just like a burning sun that was beating down
C F
She sparked a flame on virgin ground
Bb F
And if by chance a fire should start
C F
No one could tame the burning heart
C F F C F
Ooh my burning heart
