C Am
Arms once bent towards me,
F C G
now caught in hesitation
C Am
Legs once dancing,
F C G
now wandering in place
Am Bm C Am G
Words once promising,
C Am Em
to do, to have, to hold
Am Bm C Am G
What's worth saving,
C Am Em
just to watch each other drown
G
Am I wrong?

C
Oh here we are, here we are, here we are, dear
Am
Are we near to the end, saving our breath?
F
Our histories bound, cold to our chest
C G
Did I fail you? Did I fail love?
C
Here I am stealing the heat from your back
Am
Still tracing the wall where your shadow was cast
F
With every voice whispering to us,
C G
"It's not lost! It's not lost!"

C Am
I tried to love you in disguise
F C G
I built an altar to your silence
C Am
I meant to undraw every line
F C G
Wore your loneliness so fondly
Am Bm C Am G
Could you keep the restless still?
C Am Em
The future stuck inside your throat
Am Bm C Am G
What's worth letting go?
C F Am Em G
I can't tell selfishness from love anymore

C
Oh here we are, here we are, here we are, dear
Am
Are we near to the end, straining to hold
C F C
This ghost of a thing, alien being that was once love?
G
Is it still love?
C
And here I am stealing the cloth from your back
Am
Still pulling out every thread for a song
F
And maybe I'll stay, or maybe I'll hear
C G
The tiniest voice whispering to me
C Am F

"Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!"
