Having nowhere else to go

He was lonely, she was cold

Whenever they went out

It seemed as though the world began to grow
Em7 G
The two they both had not felt big enough
C
to take on something of their own
Em7
And they kept moving along, singing a song
G C
a sad song, of how they'd never learn

and they'd never know
G Em7
To try
C
They've been paralyzed by fearful eyes
G Em7 C
And realize you can move along

Write your own song
G Em7 G C
And be on your way
Em7 G
He had always dreamed to change

The world around him,
C
Rearrange the mess
Em7 G
Because through his eyes it all was beautiful
C
But not to all the rest
Em7 G C
He had so much to say, he had so much to show
Em7
But he kept moving along, singing a song
G C
a sad song, of how he'd never learn

and he'd never know
G Em7
To try
C
He'd been paralyzed by fearful eyes
G Em7 C
And realize you can move along

Write your own song
G Em7 G C
And be on your way
Em7 G C
She was unsure of many things
Em7 G C
But disregarding all the others, she loved to sing
Em7 G
But she was too scared to fail
C
Too scared to give it a go
Em7
And she kept moving along, singing a song
G C
A sad song, of how she'd never learn

And she'd never know
G Em7
To try
C
She'd been paralyzed by fearful eyes
G Em7 C
And realize you can move along

Write your own song

And be on your way
Em7 G
So I'll stop running away
C Em7
If you start learning to stay and speak your mind
G
And I'll keep writing my songs
C
If you stop thinking you're wrong today.
G Em7
And try
C
We've been paralyzed by fearful eyes
G Em7 C
And realize you can move along

Write your own song
G Em7 C G Em7 C
And be on your way
G Em7
So try
C
We've been paralyzed by fearful eyes
G Em7 C
And realize you can move along

Write your own song
C G
And be on your way
