[Intro]

[Verse 1]
C#m Bm A
Won't you walk with me on the wild side
C#m Bm A
With my head in the air full of some child's pride
C#m Bm A
And I'm up too far, I'm up too high
C#m Bm A
I cannot come down, I cannot meet your eye
Bm D A
And oh my lover, if I come knocking at your door
Bm D A
Please turn away now if I come asking for more
Bm D A
Oh my lover, you never call my bluff
Bm D A
Gave what you have now, but it was never enough

[Instrumental]
E
C#m Bm A (x4)
A

[Verse 2]
C#m Bm A
Now your mind is reaching for that door
C#m Bm A
As you pick your rings up off the floor
C#m Bm A
You never even questioned what that door was for
C#m Bm A
You gave me what you had and you could give no more
Bm D A
And oh my lover, why you leaving so soon
Bm D A
This place is a prison, oh a lifetime or two
Bm D A
Oh my lover, when will you return
Bm D A
I'll be back, somebody in there in a fever, a pearl

[Instrumental 2]
E
C#m Bm A (x4)

C#m Bm A (x2)

[Verse 3]
C#m Bm A
And why'd you let me walk on that wild side
C#m Bm A
With my head in the air full of some child's pride
C#m Bm A
Let the sun come up, let the sun rise
C#m Bm A
As it rips the curtain of your eye
Bm D A
And oh my lover, is it always the same
Bm D A
With your pointing your finger the way that I came
Bm D A
Oh my lover, you never call my bluff
Bm D A
Gave what you have now, but it was never enough

[Bridge]
E
Never enough
A G Bm
And oh the places you'll go
A G Bm
And oh the things that you'll do
A G Bm
Oh just to have and to hold
A G Bm C#m
But now you must move
A G Bm
And oh the places you'll go
A G Bm
And oh the things that you'll do
A G Bm
And oh the hand that you hold
A G Bm
Does not belong to you

[Outro]
C#m Bm
A G Bm (x4)
C#m Bm A
